About the Role: To teach the Certificate III in Beekeeping and its subjects within the course, to organize and deliver theory, practical, flexible and field-based classes. Key subject areas within the Certificate III in Beekeeping include apiary management, bee biosecurity, bee colony management, site acquisition and transport, honeybee broods, rearing queen bees and pollination services, honey extraction and pollen storage. Duties: Teach approved recurrent and industry programs including Certificate III in Beekeeping and associated skills programsLiaise with other staff, industry personnel and employersIdentify requirements for staff development and participate in staff development activitiesAssist with the development and delivery of Beekeeping and Biosecurity programsParticipate in activities related to the delivery of programs, e.g., field tripsProvide interim and annual reports of student resultsMeet, assess and enroll intending studentsImplement new technologies within the study area and departmentIdentify resource requirementsParticipate in ongoing curriculum development and assessmentRespond to enquiries on courses and trainingMaintain class attendance rolls in compliance with the institute quality guidelinesSelect, safely use and maintain appropriate equipmentPromote regulated beekeeping programs to employersIdentify and introduce strategies to assist students who are experiencing learning difficultiesEnsure vocational competence is maintained for all areas of teaching Minimum Requirements: A Degree, Diploma or Certificate relevant in both content and academic level and industry experience relevant to the Beekeeping industry.A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or TAE 40110 including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A).A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Beekeeping Industry.Ability to take a lead role in the effective delivery of Beekeeping courses.Ability to teach and facilitate delivery of specialist Beekeeping subjects and related courses to groups with diverse abilities, backgrounds, and readiness.Ability to use various teaching modes and materials including flexible and field-based delivery.Ability to cooperate in a team environment and, where necessary, work effectively with minimum supervision.Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement.A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee) - mandatory.Successful applicant must be able to attain a new Police Check.
