Are you Wellington Shire Council's first ever Social Connection and Inclusion Officer - Diversity and Inclusion? This exciting role will help Council deliver innovative social initiatives that focus on diversity, equity, access, and inclusion. We are looking for a passionate, highly skilled person who will lead Council in building connections, delivering action, and creating communities where everyone feels they belong.

What you'll be doing:
1. Policy Development: Provide sound advice and recommendations on social and community issues to Council, senior management, and external stakeholders.
2. Collaboration: Build partnerships across Council, community groups, and key agencies to ensure integrated planning and delivery.
3. Strategic Planning: Lead and evaluate community projects aligned with Council priorities, including the Council Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
4. Innovation: Develop and implement new strategies to address community needs in Positive Ageing, Access, Inclusion, and Diversity.
5. Capacity Building: Arrange training for community groups and provide tailored responses to inquiries about Council's Community Collaborations Program.
6. Data-Driven Decision Making: Conduct research and use evidence-based insights to guide Council's future policies and services.

About you:

* A strategic mindset, with the creativity to find innovative solutions to complex challenges.
