Our purpose is to build resilience in the financial system and use financial intelligence and regulation to disrupt money laundering, terrorism financing and other serious crime.With government and industry partners, we use financial intelligence and regulation to:Prevent criminal abuse of the financial sector;Help business, government and law enforcement partners detect, deter and disrupt money laundering, terrorism financing and other serious crimes;Build and maintain trust and integrity in Australia’s financial system.Purpose of the First Nations Talent RegisterThe First Nations Talent Register is an initiative designed to encourage and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in applying for roles at AUSTRAC. As vacancies arise, we will actively engage with the register to match candidates with opportunities that align with their skills and areas of interest.How the Register Will Be UsedBy joining the First Nations Talent Register, you’ll be considered for a range of employment opportunities within AUSTRAC, including ongoing and non-ongoing (temporary) vacancies. These roles may be full-time, part-time, or casual, depending on our business needs. Applications from current APS employees are also welcome and can be considered for temporary or permanent transfers (at level).As part of your application, we’ll ask you to share your work preferences, educational background, and a resume outlining your experience and skills. Your application will remain active for 12 months, and the details will be shared with relevant AUSTRAC hiring managers for consideration.If a role aligns with your skills and experience, a hiring manager will reach out to discuss the opportunity with you. Please keep in mind, however, that applying to the Talent Register does not guarantee an offer of employment.Eligibility CriteriaAs this is an affirmative measures process, applicants must:Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;Be accepted by their community as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.To be eligible to work at AUSTRAC, you must:Be an Australian Citizen;Be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance;Undertake pre-employment checks, such as security assessment.Support for Indigenous ApplicantsTo ensure a positive experience for First Nations applicants, we are committed to offering flexibility and support throughout the application and interview process.
