The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist (Mental Health - Alcohol and Other Drugs Service) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
1. Deliver Occupational Therapy clinical services within the multidisciplinary team
2. Utilise Occupational Therapy clinical skills when engaging in the core services provided by Alcohol and Other Drugs
3. Work cooperatively and effectively within the multidisciplinary team and liaise with consumers and their families
4. Provide supervision to assistants, volunteers and less experienced staff for routine tasks
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
5. Tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy
6. AHPRA Registration
7. Driver Licence
8. Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
9. Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
10. Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
11. Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
21. Temporary full time (11 months with the possibility of extension)
22. Base salary ranging from $2 941.70 - $4 323.80 per annum
About Us
Specialist Programs and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service is a Service Line within the Mental Health and Specialist Services (MHSS) Directorate. AODS is focused on developing and providing innovative solutions to reduce the harmful impact of alcohol and drug use. AODS has two community teams based in Southport and Palm Beach which offer triage, assessment, support, case management, individual counselling, groups, opioid replacement treatment, and outpatient detox.
