Description Senior Solution Designer – 58260 • Permanent • Location: Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast • Hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office WFH) How will I help? As a hands-on Senior Solution Designer, you will be at the forefront of creating high-level solution designs. You'll collaborate with architects, tech and business stakeholders, and external providers to build the required capabilities. Your role involves engaging with various stakeholders, becoming an expert in your domain, and supporting the broader engineering community. Key accountabilities : Leading, driving, exploring options, and being creative to achieve quality solution designs. Taking ownership of the overall end-state for solutions, ensuring they meet Westpac standards for reliability, stability, and operational soundness. Supporting the solution architect in understanding current states and impacts of solution architectures. Converting requirements into architectures and solution designs for projects that do not require a solution architect. Ensuring end-to-end design alignment developed by different teams meets business requirements. Being accountable for build, test, and implementations. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, effective communication, and seamless delivery of solutions. Creating clear and concise documentation, including design documents, sequence diagrams, and technical specifications. Supporting IT estimations and assisting in delivering detailed IT costings for solutions. Providing expert technical guidance and support to development teams and overseeing low-level design, build, and testing. What’s in it for me? To be successful in this role, you should have: Experience in a similar role, preferably in consumer products originations (Cards/Personal Loans). 7 years of overall IT industry/SDLC experience. A customer-focused mindset with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Technical skills required: Experience in developing microservices/restful APIs using Spring Boot, Java, Kafka, SQL, DB2, and Azure technologies. Excellent analysis and design skills with technical problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, or Bamboo. Knowledge of React JS, Redux, Node JS, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is desirable. Experience with Splunk/AppDynamics is a plus. What’s it like to work there?
