Job Description
The primary goal of the Network Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of the Superloop network in order to provide maximum performance and availability to all customers. The Network Engineer is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining all devices and services within Superloop’s global network.
What will you do?
* Designing and implementing network infrastructure.
* Proactively monitoring network performance.
* Troubleshooting network faults, resolving escalated network issues.
* Adhering to all network security standards.
* Mentor junior team members on technical issues.
* Managing and maintaining network documentation and inventory.
* Collaborating with other business units where required.
* Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
* Adhering to all company policies.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Degree in Telecommunications or related discipline.
* Minimum 6 years’ experience in a networking related role.
* In-depth knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networks.
* In-depth understanding of ethernet switching technologies.
* In-depth understanding of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), MPLS L2/L3 VPN.
* In-depth understanding of IP routing and forwarding.
* Strong understanding of RSVP MPLS-TE.
* Strong understanding of service provider network.
* Ability to work without supervision and in a team environment.
* Strong customer service ethic.
* Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Sound project management skills.
* CCNP/CCIE or equivalent experience will be highly regarded.
* The following skills and experience would be considered an advantage:
○ Knowledge of EVPN-VPWS, EVPN-ELAN, VXLAN BGP-EVPN.
○ Experience of managing Cisco NCS 5000, 5500, 8200 and ASR9000 platforms.
○ Experience of using Grafana, Observium
○ Strong understanding of NBN products and services.
○ Experience and knowledge of network automation using Python, Ansible etc.
