What you'd be doing in this role: This year the Home and Content Management group is on a mission to inspire everyone to visually communicate and stay organised. We are forming a new team to help users organise their designs effectively while controlling access. This involves building rich features into the Canva home page and within the editor, working closely with various teams across the company. This role is focused on: Leading motivated engineers who build, run, and analyze features across the Canva product. Coaching engineers by providing regular, practical feedback and collaboratively helping them reach their personal growth goals. Setting clear goals for the team and rallying them to execute on those goals. Ensuring a healthy environment for collaboration and fostering an open, pragmatic, and encouraging engineering culture. Owning the team's development methodology and rituals such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Leading the team's technical strategy and roadmap in collaboration with various stakeholders. Writing and reviewing design documents, breaking projects down into milestones, and being responsible for project delivery. Working in cross-functional teams with UI/UX designers, content designers, product managers, and engineers (including QA and data analysts) to meet team needs. You're probably a match if you have: Proven success in people and technical leadership. Previous experience as a Software Engineer, comfortable contributing to design documents. Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate problems and solutions clearly. Strong ability to influence and work cross-functionally with diverse teams.
