You will lead a committed team in the delivery of quality and responsive HR services and expert support and advice to all Memorial staff, helping to commemorate those who have sacrificed so much in the service of our nation.
This is a particularly exciting period at the Australian War Memorial, with extensive works underway to modernise and expand our galleries and buildings to tell the continuing story of contemporary Australian service and sacrifice.
As the Head of Human Resources, you will play a vital leadership role at the Memorial during this pivotal period, providing high-level policy and implementation advice to the Director, Assistant Directors, senior management, and Council.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership in the provision of strategic and operational people management policies and processes
* Manage the resources, inputs, processes, performance, and development of the HR team using participative management practices and a supportive management style
* Promote a positive organisational culture that fosters accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Ensure the Memorial's compliance with all relevant legislative requirements in respect to Human Resources Management
This role requires innovative thinking, collaboration, and strong leadership skills to drive business objectives while recognising and accommodating interdependencies across all business units within the Memorial.
