Mens Outreach Service Aboriginal Corporation – Broome WAAn exciting opportunity is now available for a Family Domestic Violence (FDV) practitioner to work within our popular men's behaviour change program, Change Em Ways (CEW). The position is based in Broome, with occasional overnight travel required. A fixed term contract is available for 12 months, with possibility of extension.You will be required to: Support the leadership and co-facilitation of the CEW program, an Indigenous men's behaviour change program which addresses Family and Domestic Violence (FDV)Conduct intake and risk assessments upon receiving referrals in line with program requirements, and provide guidance and support to other team members completing these assessmentsLead good practice and case management within the team, and engage in ongoing professional development including regular supervision with the Team LeaderLiaise with other members of the Change Em Ways team, including the MOSAC Cultural Reference Group to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that team practice is culturally secure, in the Kimberley Indigenous context.Facilitate regular team de-briefs and reflective practice sessions with team members at the end of each workshop day, under the guidance of the Team LeaderCollect data to assist in the evaluation process, including feedback from those who use FDV, their (ex) partners and other family/community members.Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the program and continuous improvement in service deliverySuccessful applicants will ideally have: Extensive experience in Family Domestic Violence (FDV) workExperience in group program facilitationAbility to work with Indigenous peopleExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong time management, planning and organisation skills.Requirements and relevant information: Applicants must hold a 'C' class drivers' license with no restrictionsOvernight travel is a requirement of this roleAboriginal applicants are strongly encouraged to applySelection criteria: Knowledge of, and experience in program and service delivery to a diverse range of participants within a human services setting - particularly in the areas of family domestic violenceDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture and the ability to apply cultural knowledge and sensitivities in an operational settingDemonstrated experience and completed training to apply the concepts and principles of Indigenous family domestic violence intervention within a culturally safe, strength based, trauma informed framework which promotes safety, accountability, responsibility and respectDemonstrated experience and ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, working successfully with Aboriginal staff and to participate in reflective practice sessionsExperience in liaising with stakeholders to improve service delivery and outcomesAbility to use or complete training in MS Word, Excel, OutlookWhat we offer: $110,000 per annum (pro rata), 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, SGC superannuation, Not For Profit generous salary packaging, anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional 3 days leave at Christmas, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.If you are interested in working for a grassroots, community focused and valued organisation, then contact Nic Glauser, A/Team Leader on 0429 484 *** or Debbie Medhurst, Manager - Men's Outreach Services (0418 665 ***) for more details about the position.Applications will be assessed on receipt and successful candidates will be contacted for interview.
