We have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Retail Communications & Activity Planning Manager to transform communication for our 5,000+ Retail team members across Australia and New Zealand.
The Role You Could Play:
Reporting to the Head of Central Operations and working closely with the Corporate Communications & Sustainability team, this role will be accountable for designing our approach to employee communications, and ensuring our retail team are informed, connected and engaged with the right information, through the right channel and at the right time.
With the support of our communications and activity planning team, this role will partner effectively with key stakeholders across the wider business to deliver strategic and tactical change for Mecca’s Retail stores.
Day to day you will be responsible for:
1. Using a range of formats to deliver informative, relevant, clear and engaging content for target audiences, including video, audio, graphics and written communication.
2. Implementing tools to improve effectiveness of existing Retail communication channels and identifying ways that these channels can be streamlined and optimised.
3. Implementing tools and process to improve activity planning for retail stores to support stores streamline activities and enable best execution at any given day
4. Supporting the Chief Retail Officer, Head of Retail, Head of Central Operations and other key Retail leaders to communicate with the Retail team, including the development and delivery of engaging events (, the bi-annual Retail Leadership Conference).
5. Using a range of formats to deliver informative, relevant, clear and engaging content for target
6. Develop guidelines and education content for the Retail team to ensure high quality and consistent communication.
7. Develop a suite of reporting metrics that measure and track the effectiveness of key communication channels.
What You Will Bring:
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about achieving exceptional outcomes for our team members, our customers, and our brands, and thrives in a fast-paced, complex, and entrepreneurial environment.
This role will have a detailed understanding of our retail operations and will be the ‘go-to’ person and gatekeeper for communications to the retail team, therefore our ideal candidate will ideally have experience working with a retail environment and a strong understanding of the different activities store teams face day to day.
In addition, we are looking for:
8. You have experience in a similar internal communications role, ideally within the retail sector.
9. Experience in developing and delivering high-impact internal communication and transformation strategies with clear and measurable objectives
10. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and partner effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
11. Demonstrated ability to create content (written, video, audio etc.) for a range of audiences, which is creative, engaging, informative and clear.
12. Recent experience in using technology platforms for internal communications, including Teams, Zoom and enterprise social networks.
13. Experience in leading teams and managing direct reports.
14. You are passionate about continuous improvement and have strong commercial acumen and natural curiosity about how businesses work.
