The Project Linguist position works within the (MLT).The Project Linguist is based in Adelaide and works under the general direction of the Manager, MLT on community language projects in regional locations in South Australia. The Project Linguist works as part of a team responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality, complex language databases that contribute to the documentation and understanding of SA Indigenous languages. The Project Linguist will be required to undertake critical archival research in Indigenous collection in museums, libraries and archives.To be successful you will need:Ability to develop and populate complex language databases that reflect the state of SA Indigenous languages.Ability to collate and maintain analytical data for the MLT Dashboard.Critically assess archival materials for use in language databases and in language revival activities.Ability to collate diverse research data on SA languages to be used by policy writers.Proven ability to produce clear, high-quality written reports.This position requires a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.If you have the talent, we'll give you the opportunity.
