Our OpportunityWork Location: Perth – Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people Roster: Monday to Friday Fortescue is currently undertaking a rapid expansion and are seeking applications for a Document Controller.
The primary role of this position is to coordinate and facilitate the accurate recording, storing, maintenance and continual improvement of Fortescue documentation in accordance with Fortescue policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities Master Fortescue's document control system and processes, to ensure Fortescue's document requirements are understood and met Streamline the processing and management of Document Control requests Undertake activities to support the complete lifecycle management of Controlled Documents Monitor project/corporate registers and information systems to ensure the accuracy of documents, drawings, scope, and design variations Develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders including contractors, suppliers, OEMs and Fortescue partners, to facilitate alignment with Fortescue standards and the seamless delivery of documentation Facilitate documentation security measures and privacy protections to safeguard sensitive information, ensure information segregation and security requirements including contractor IP Facilitate access, training and support to project team members on document management processes and systems/tools Facilitate controlled and managed data and document transfers among stakeholder organisations, including Fortescue, partners, consultants, contractors, and suppliers Provide support for project close-out and document handover activities and archival management Monitor process compliance and proactively address any issues as needed Deliver business support for project document and records management Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience 2+ year's experience working in document control, preferably within a resources or engineering environment Experience using document control systems and processes in project settings Familiarity with document control methodologies, processes and techniques Basic to intermediate experience with document management systems (Omega PIMS knowledge beneficial but not required) Strong internal customer service experience with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document management High level of computer skill with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
