NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families, and older people through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Our Lithgow Mental Health team is seeking to engage a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care and comprehensive clinical mental health services to people with a mental illness or a mental disorder. The care/service provided is aimed to be least intrusive, collaborative, recovery-oriented, encompassing a nominated career and family responsive and inclusive, rehabilitative, and evidence-based practice. The service's goal is to encourage self-advocacy, facilitate empowerment, and capacity for optimal independent function through the utilisation of evidence-based practice interventions.
The successful incumbent will be based at Lithgow Community Health Centre. Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas.

What you will bring to the role:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated recent experience in nursing in a mental health setting or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Nursing – Mental Health or Completion of New Graduate Programme.
* Demonstrated skills in mental health nursing assessments and interventions and experience working with people with mental illness.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment and understanding of trauma-informed care and recovery principles in mental health service provision.
* Demonstrated understanding of culturally sensitive practice and commitment to Aboriginal mental health and well-being principles and practice improvement.
* Demonstrated excellent communication and computer skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal and computer competence and literacy.
* Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.
* Current NSW driver's licence including P1 or above and willingness to use for work purposes.
