Working within a multi-disciplinary team delivering a range of support services including finance and business processes, fleet and equipment, executive support and human resources the Workforce Planning Unit works collaboratively to deliver high-level services to support operational service delivery. About the role As the Manager Workforce Planning, you will : Lead, manage and coordinate the Workforce Planning Unit to ensure that efficient and effective workforce planning and rostering services are delivered to the region. Develop and implement operationally focused continuous business improvement practices to enhance workforce planning and coordination for regional operations. Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of regional strategic and operational plans, and associated policies and procedures by providing high level workforce planning and management advice. Undertake quality data analysis and reporting in order to proactively contribute to the QAS operational performance indicators to meet required objectives, milestones and KPIs and to improve business activities and processes. Provide authoritative advice to supervisors in relation to the approval of staff entitlements such as annual leave, accrued time, sick leave, long service leave and time off in lieu (TOIL), manage timesheet processes including quality assurance activities. Participate in staff working committees in relation to best practice resource planning and coordination procedures, as well as represent the QAS in consultations, meetings and forums with a broad range of stakeholders including Queensland Health. Actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms. Who we are looking for: We are looking for applicants who possess the following attributes: Detailed knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues affecting the delivery and support of workforce planning and rostering activities in a complex operational environment. Demonstrated expert knowledge of and capability in database management and report generation, complex spreadsheets and computerised resource planning and coordination programs. Well-developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills including a demonstrated ability to interpret financial and trend/output/outcome performance data to drive performance improvement. Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse, professional teams in an environment of competing priorities and needs with limited resources. Demonstrated well-developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to contribute to strategic planning and the provision of policy advice, including the development and implementation of district/regional operational policies, standards and service improvement initiatives.
