Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance View all jobs About The Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance (TFSVA) The TFSVA serves as lutruwita/Tasmania's new peak body for family and sexual violence services.Its primary purpose is to provide a coordinated and strategic response to family violence, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse within the state.The TFSVA aims to transform the culture and systems that perpetuate gender inequality and violence, striving to create a place where all people experience safety, dignity, and agency.Summary of Position Purpose Following incorporation, the Alliance is seeking to appoint the inaugural CEO.Reporting to the Transitional Board, the CEO is responsible for establishing and leading this newly formed peak body.This role involves driving the TFSVA's mission and providing strategic leadership to guide the development and implementation of the Alliance's broader vision.This will require the development of foundational systems, as well as building collaborative networks across the sector.This role will represent the perspectives and experiences of victim-survivors and service providers, to influence policy and advocate for systemic reform.The CEO will also work to enhance sector capacity and cohesion through evidence-based practices and innovative approaches.With high-level managerial responsibility and a high level of independence, the CEO will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation's formation, ensuring its sustainability, and delivering meaningful progress in addressing family and sexual violence in lutruwita/Tasmania.Classification: Level 8, SCHADS AwardLocation: Tasmania – flexible (may be work from home, or from future TFSVA offices, with some intra and interstate travel required)Duration: Fixed-term contract (0.8 FTE) from 3 March 2025 to 30 June 2026 (potential for extension subject to funding)Reporting to: Chair, Transitional BoardDirect reports: Sector Engagement Officer (0.8 FTE) and Administration Support Officer (0.6 FTE) Key Responsibilities/Tasks Strategic leadership Implement the strategic plan to realise the TFSVA's mission to transform systems and culture.Foster an organisational culture that is inclusive and promotes safety, dignity, and equity for all stakeholders, especially victim-survivors.Lead strategic planning processes to drive significant change for the family and sexual violence sector and system response in lutruwita/Tasmania.Ensure long-term sustainability and growth for the organisation and the sector it represents. Organisational management Establish foundational organisational systems, processes, and membership services and drive their continuous improvement.Cultivate a positive, collaborative, and values-driven workplace environment.Oversee financial and operational performance, ensuring sound financial management and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.Develop and manage a high-performing team through effective recruitment, mentorship, and leadership development. Advocacy and policy Ensure that the voices of victim-survivors and the sector are paramount when the Alliance advocates for systemic change to reduce the incidence and impacts of family and sexual violence.Engage with government, stakeholders, and community partners to influence policy and legislative reform.Lead engagement strategies and initiatives that support the ongoing development and achievement of TFSVA's goals.Foster collaboration with member organisations to improve sector capacity and cohesion.Lead initiatives that build the skills, knowledge, and resources of service providers in the family and sexual violence sector.Promote evidence-based, contemporary practices and encourage innovative solutions that address ongoing and emerging challenges.
