Your work will help detainees build skills, enhance their mental health, and promote emotional resilience. This role is essential in providing meaningful engagement opportunities, ensuring detainees can participate in various educational, recreational, and leisure activities designed to meet their individual needs. As an Activities Officer in the Welfare and Engagement team, you’ll make a positive impact by: Planning and delivering structured programs and activities that cater to diverse interests and needs Supporting detainees in accessing recreational equipment and maintaining accurate records Facilitating access to educational and spiritual activities, ensuring inclusivity and respect for diverse backgrounds Contributing to the P&A schedule with innovative ideas and responding to detainee feedback Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote detainee health and wellbeing Serco is a place for you You are empathetic and culturally sensitive, with a passion for delivering programs that support wellbeing and engagement. You have strong organisational skills and experience working in diverse environments. To be successful in this role you’ll have: Experience in Arts and Crafts or creative activities is highly desirable Experience managing and delivering structured programs or activities Strong organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal First Aid and CPR qualifications (or ability to obtain) Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and demonstrate cultural sensitivity You do not need to match every listed expectation to apply for this position.
