The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to realise economic, social, cultural and environmental benefits that the ownership and management of land, water and water related rights can bring. The ILSC provides this assistance through the acquisition and management of rights and interests in land, salt water and freshwater country. The ILSC is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Eastern Division General Manager to build and lead our Eastern Office. With a diverse project portfolio, this role is both rewarding and challenging as it delivers economic, environmental, social and/or cultural benefits to Indigenous Australians. The key duties of the position include: Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, you will: Lead and manage the key functions of the Eastern Division of the ILSC through effective leadership, planning, organising and the achievement of divisional outcomes in line with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005, National Indigenous Land & Sea Strategy (NILSS), Regional Indigenous Land & Sea Strategy (RILSS) and Our Country Our Future (OCOF) Program objectives. Provide positive leadership and support to a large team of Operations Managers and Project Advisors. Provide high-level advice, recommendations and decisions to the ILSC Executive and Board regarding the ILSC's acquisitions of country and management of country functions, including the return of ILSC land and water assets to Indigenous organisations, related activities and policy. Ensure that human resources, financial and physical assets are effectively and efficiently deployed to meet divisional and organisational goals and objectives. Oversee implementation, monitoring, measuring and reporting on ILSC acquisition of country and management of country investments, property management and return of ILSC land and water assets with a focus on financial and governance compliance and project performance of funding recipients.
