The Client
The client is the leader in the Australian and New Zealand collision repair industry and associated auto parts market.
The Role
Our team requires an individual who can follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring they wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
They must report any safety incidents or near misses to the Production Manager or Centre Manager immediately.
Employees are required to clock on and off each day to reflect attendance and ensure they are always clocked onto a job or task.
Key responsibilities include colour mixing and matching vehicles after preparation and scheduling for painting.
Job numbers must be entered into the paint mixing system, and the employee may be appointed as Colour Librarian to build and maintain the colour library.
Preparation, priming, and painting of vehicles must be performed according to Job Sheet requirements following the paint supplier's process.
Vehicles must be buffed and denibbed according to Job Sheet specifications, and employees are responsible for handling all vehicles with due care and attention.
Appropriate usage of consumables and materials must be ensured to avoid wastage.
If required, employees may carry out minor/small repairs according to Job Sheet specifications and notate broken parts/extra repairs for submission to the Estimator.
Before proceeding with additional work, employees must obtain authorisation.
New parts must be double-checked for accuracy and undamaged; if not, the Parts Manager/Production Manager must be advised.
Work must comply with QA standards, and employees are required to sign the QA Sheet to confirm that their work meets these standards.
Cleanliness of the workbay/workshop is essential, and employees must handle company tools and equipment with due care and attention to ensure they remain safe, clean, and in working order.
Candidates will also be expected to coach apprentices (if assigned) and undertake all lawful and reasonable requests from management.
The Candidate
A successful candidate will be Trade Qualified Spray Painter, physically fit, and able to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, an attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the team are essential qualities.
Candidates should be reliable, punctual, and hardworking, with Junior-Mid Experienced Tradeperson salary expectations ranging from $60,000 to $80,000.
Mid-Senior Tradesperson salary expectations range from $80,000 to $100,000.
