Position Information Ellison Public School is situated in the lower Blue Mountains between Springwood and Winmalee. There is a current student enrolment of 298 students, including 15 Aboriginal students. In 2025, a second support class is being established. All teachers are committed to developing and implementing quality teaching and learning programs, based on ongoing assessment and evaluation. Other priorities in the school's Strategic Improvement Plan include a strong emphasis on differentiated, evidence-based teaching and learning, maximising upon already strong parent engagement and support in partnering to improve student learning outcomes. The school has strong working relationships with the P&C and wider community who work collaboratively to enhance student learning outcomes. Selection Criteria Approval to teach special education and / or experience teaching students with complex needs, including autism, intellectual disabilities, behaviours disorders, trauma and mental health in a multi-stage setting. 2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate leaning experiences for students with complex learning needs with a strong focus on growth in literacy and numeracy outcomes supported by the implementation of data informed individualised learning programs that are aligned with the Disability Standards for Education. 3. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that contribute to a culture of inclusivity, through proactive collaboration, with students, colleagues, parents, carers, school learning support officers, external agencies and the wider school community. 4. Experience in managing challenging behaviours in a classroom setting, using a variety of positive behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
