Position Information Marayong Public School is situated on traditional Aboriginal Dharug land in Western Sydney. The school has a fluctuating student enrolment of 630. The student population is drawn from over 45 socio-cultural backgrounds predominately from Islander, African, Middle Eastern and Asian communities. 66% of the student population are from Language Backgrounds Other than English. Seven per cent of students identify as Aboriginal. The school ensures equity for all learners including students within our 7 support Unit classes where teachers are aligned to their stage teams ensuring students are able to access the curriculum requirements at their grade level. There is a strong transition to school program with the onsite Public Preschool, that fosters a love of learning, curiosity and choice through a strong connection to school. Currently the school is part of the Hawkesbury SoLaR Battalion and promotes a culture of collaboration through instructional leadership. Student wellbeing is paramount in all school programs and students are encouraged to uphold the school's core values of being safe, responsible learners. Selection Criteria Approval to teach K-6 with demonstrated ability to deliver explicit teaching and learning programs and to analyse data leading to student growth and improvement. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative and positive classroom learning environments with behaviour management strategies to cater for a diverse range of students. Developed interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, parents and staff, to contribute to an inclusive school culture. Demonstrated capability and willingness to facilitate extra-curricular activities such as sport, choir, drama, public speaking, dance. Conditions An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
