Job Description
As a Dietician, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and well-being of patients through evidence-based nutrition assessment, counselling, and education. You will develop policies and clinical pathways to address dietary needs influenced by genetic conditions, cultural backgrounds, medical issues, mental health (including food and fluid refusal), medications, and substance use. Your expert nutritional advice and education will empower patients to make healthier choices and optimize their health outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and implement policies and procedures for nutrition assessment, intervention, and education.
* Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients, taking into account individual factors such as medical history, dietary habits, cultural preferences, and psychosocial factors.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders to integrate nutrition education into holistic health promotion programs for the client
* Stay abreast of current research, evidence-based practices, and emerging trends in nutrition and dietetics, particularly as they relate to vulnerable populations and diverse cultural contexts.
Qualifications
You are a dedicated and compassionate Dietitian with a strong commitment to promoting health through nutrition. Your background in clinical nutrition equips you with the knowledge and skills to assess individual dietary needs effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with clients to support their health goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Dietetics
* Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a dietitian in a clinical, community, or institutional setting, with experience in diverse cultural or underserved populations preferred.
* Strong knowledge of nutrition science, dietary guidelines, and therapeutic nutrition principles, with expertise in addressing complex dietary needs and medical conditions.
* Excellent communication, counselling, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide culturally sensitive care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Demonstrated ability to write clinical policies and procedures
