Ambulance Tasmania is seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of Paramedic in
the North West of Tasmania.
Commencement dates from April 2025.
Please note this recruitment process is for experienced Paramedics who must have completed an orientation to practice for Ambulance Paramedic qualification through a jurisdictional ambulance service AND have a current independent clinical scope of practice at that level AND have recency of practice. This process does not form part of an Ambulance Tasmania Graduate Paramedic Training Course recruitment.
Ambulance Tasmania promotes and provides integrated high quality, emergency ambulance care, rescue, and patient transport to the Tasmanian community. The role of Ambulance Tasmania is to provide pre-hospital patient care, specialised patient transport, medical transfers, and public education. AT achieves this using salaried and volunteer staff as well as through the support of independent ambulance services.
The Team:
Ambulance paramedics are frontline health care professionals. They are active members of the health care team, contributing to the preservation and restoration of health for the people of Tasmania. Paramedics provide efficient and effective medical care, which is timely, appropriate to the needs of the patient, of a high quality and equitably available.
The Role:
As a Paramedic, you will provide pre-hospital clinical care to the Tasmanian community, including the transport of patients by ambulance or other means.
You will need to
* Attend to members of the community requiring clinical care and treatment via ambulance services.
* Independently, or as part of a team, deliver pre-hospital clinical care in accordance with approved clinical practice guidelines.
* Maintain constant contact with the State Communications Centre, in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania policies and protocols.
* Complete all relevant documentation with respect to clinical services, training provided and changes to the working environment and equipment.
* Maintain a prescribed level of knowledge in ambulance care practices and the correct application of ambulance equipment.
* Maintain the allocated vehicle and equipment in a state of readiness at all times.

Details of Appointment: Paramedic B or C
Multiple Permanent, full time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar fixed term full time, part time and casual vacancies.
Locations:
North West Tasmania
Salary: $83,666 to $124,987 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
* Salary range is in accordance with Ambulance Tasmania Agreement 2019.

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
* Registered with the Paramedicine Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* Holds a Bachelor of Paramedic Science and relevant work experience or other qualification approved by the Service
* Current Driver’s Licence
