About the role Red Cross Emergency Services assists people and communities before, during, and after emergencies. The team’s work supports communities, groups and individuals to prepare for emergencies as well as assisting with response and disaster recovery. In this role, you will oversee department logistics such as ordering, receiving, and shipping of goods, while also implementing new strategies to ensure efficient and optimal performance. Leveraging your leadership skills, you will foster and manage a motivated, high-performing team of staff and volunteers that are aligned with our mission and equipped to meet the demands of our programs. This includes actively supporting professional development, identifying growth opportunities, and facilitating training. Additionally, you will take charge of the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing management of our casual workforce. Your ability to inspire and guide others in a collaborative, supportive work environment will help build a workforce that is adaptable, engaged, and ready to make a meaningful impact. What you will bring Prior experience in project management, logistics coordination, or support roles within emergency services or similar fields Proven ability to recruit, onboard, manage, mentor, and develop team members or volunteers, demonstrating strong leadership skills Exceptional relationship-building abilities with both internal and external stakeholders Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Forms, Excel, Outlook, and relevant database applications A relevant four-year degree with one year of relevant experience, or a three-year degree with two years of relevant experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Benefits that act for you, while you act for humanity Financial wellbeing : In addition to your salary, you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your salary.
