Whowe’re looking for:
We arelooking for a hands on Table Grape Assistant Manager that will assist in thesafe, timely and accurate implementation of critical agronomical programs andfarm operations to meet production targets set by the Table Grape Manager.
Whatyou’ll be doing:
TheTable Grape Assistant Manager will support the Farm Manager to manage a team oftractor/spray operators and ensure work performance and outputs areconsistently maintained.
Otherresponsibilities:
1. Irrigation, fertigation and spraying (planning and applying)
2. Ensure the health and wellbeing of staff, contractors, and seasonal labour on the Farm.
3. Align harvest and operational activities with concurrent farm programs and seasonal priorities.
4. ensure appropriate work and training systems, processes and procedures are in place and address any identified gaps as a matter of priority.
5. Assist with the redevelopment of vineyards and establishment of new varietal areas.
6. Maintain current knowledge of agronomic research and development.
7. Assist in all aspects of farming where needed
Whatyou’ll bring to the role:
We’relooking for someone with…
8. Diploma in Horticulture or equivalent would be highly regarded.
9. Knowledge of crop cultivation and manipulation/protection.
10. Mechanical aptitude to undertake basic diagnosis and repair of farm equipment.
11. Computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Well-developed interpersonal and social skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
