The role: As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care, the Psychiatrist: Provides comprehensive general inpatient and community psychiatric services in Tasmania. Acts as a consultant to mental health professionals and health service providers regarding the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders. Undertakes supervisory responsibilities with Registrars/Career Medical Officers, Resident Medical Officers and other medical staff as required. Mental Health Services: State-wide Mental Health Services (SMHS) provides a comprehensive suite of mental health services in adult, alcohol and drug, forensic, older persons, child and youth and correctional primary. Available roles for Staff Specialist – Psychiatrists in SMHS Adult Mental Health Service South include the provision of services in: Community-based Mental Health Services, including the Acute Care Stream (ACS) and Mental Health Hospital in the Home (MHHiTH). The acute general adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit (MHIU) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). The general adult Consultation-Liaison psychiatric service in the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) and associated facilities. Rehabilitation and extended care facilities: Millbrook Rise Centre (MRC) and Tolosa Street. Step-up and step-down facilities in the community. Details of Appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker (with on-call) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Salary: Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Provision of a motor vehicle allowance of $28,389 per annum. Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 per annum. Relocation and commencement support available up to $15,000 for approved appointees. Other allowances as applicable.
