They are now seeking an Associate Principal Mechanical Engineer, responsible for project delivery of new product development. The Role: Lead a team of mechanical and cross-functional engineers on projects. Deliver project outcomes on time, on budget and achieving client satisfaction. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize the design, development and operation of programs, delivering products and solutions that meet internal and external client needs. Deliver robust and high-quality solutions that are compliant with all applicable business and regulatory requirements through own effort or as part of a development team. Provide leadership and mentoring of team associates in disciplines of mechanical and systems engineering to ensure high quality deliverables. Provide mechanical engineering supervision to operating projects. Provide cross project guidance for production ready design of products under development including consumer and industrial products, in vitro-diagnostic and life sciences instruments. Budget setting, tracking and forecasting for project mechanical and systems effort. Establish, implement and manage build activities within their staged development programs. Lead and support conversion activities. Other duties as required. Personal Attributes & Experience Background: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Thorough knowledge and significant relevant industrial experience in product development and/or manufacturing. Substantial depth of experience in product development lifecycle in a diverse range of industries and manufacturing environments. Demonstrated experience in design transfer and manufacturing establishment of medium and high-volume products. Ability to rapidly understand and assimilate project and client specific requirements. Superior problem-solving skills with an ability to analyse and resolve complex issues. Immediate knowledge and practical application of design for automation and/or manufacturing equipment would be advantageous. Excellent and innate engineering aptitude. Good project administration and management skills. Basic business and financial management knowledge and skills. Effective collaboration with remote teams. Experience with team leadership, team building and leading a team across assigned projects, including coordinating and allocating tasks. A positive energetic and self-motivated character.
