We are currently seeking a front-line Manufacturing Manager to join our advanced manufacturing site on a full-time permanent basis on afternoon shift. This position is based 100% onsite in Port Melbourne and will be overseeing our afternoon shift operations from 2:30pm to 11:00pm.
We’re seeking a highly motivated front-line leader who is passionate about manufacturing and champions safety, quality, continuous improvement and positive team culture to achieve operational excellence.
You will be supported by the Senior Manufacturing Manager on afternoon shift and will have the responsibility to lead a diverse production team, develop and implement plans to engage our manufacturing teams, support staff, and ensure assets reliability to meet production requirements.
As a front-line Manufacturing Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining a high level of operational performance, delivering commercial airplane components to support final assembly at The Boeing Company.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Manage and lead a production team to achieve operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
2. Ensure safety standards are met and maintained in the production area
3. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality
4. Collaborate with other leaders to maintain the operating rhythm of operations
5. Track production metrics and report performance to senior management
6. Ensure that the team is trained and fully equipped to meet production targets
7. Ensure that all production documentation and records are accurately maintained
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
8. Proven experience leading, coaching and supporting teams in a complex manufacturing / factory environment in a front-line managerial or supervisory role
9. Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally with a range of stakeholders to collaborate and influence others to ensure program deliverables are achieved
10. Experience and familiarity implementing Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
11. Ability to analyze data and make sound decisions based on the data
12. Strong communication, leadership skills, ability to manage conflict and negotiate
13. Ability to work afternoon shifts is essential

Additional Information:
This is a non-EBA position IJC DAKUMK. Remuneration will be dependent on skills and experience. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
