Of course, along with brands, and great assets, the other vital ingredient in our recipe for success is – GREAT PEOPLE, and that is where you come in!The RoleReporting to the General Manager Operations in WA, you will provide safety leadership and advice to management and employees in the delivery of Patties Foods’ Health and Safety Program to safeguard employee wellness, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, industry standards and proactively championing & fostering a positive safety culture.You will be able to make this role your own and will have the flex to apply your relevant skills, knowledge and safety expertise to meet the safety requirements for the Perth site. Your duties will include but not be limited to;Continue to strengthen Patties Foods health and safety management processes, by constantly reviewing key health and safety measures to implement approaches that improve safety outcomes across the site.Safeguard employee welfare and business risk by undertaking risk assessments in relation to health & safety issues, recommending and implementing solutions and approaches that mitigates risk.Work closely with other Health & Safety colleagues from all sites in developing policies, procedures and new guidelines.Eliminate or control safety risks to employees by partnering closely with line managers and supervisors to identify, assess, eliminate and / or control safety risks across the business.Partner closely with management, employees and contractors to ensure safe systems of work are understood and compliant with legislative and industry standards and undertake safety investigations.Provide leadership to employees, managers and other Health & Safety specialists in the interpretation and application of relevant state and federal legislation across the Perth and Patties Foods sites.The PersonThis is both a leadership and hands-on role that requires you to pro-actively engage with managers and employees to help strengthen and drive our workplace health and safety culture. To be successful in this role, ideally you will have tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety together with a minimum experience of 4 to 5 years in the Food / Manufacturing industries. You will also have;Demonstrated knowledge and application of Health & Safety practices and obligations in a food / manufacturing workplace environment.Sound knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control principles relating to plant, equipment, processes, property, environment and other risk exposures in a manufacturing environment.Engage effectively with managers and employees to implement health and safety practices that safeguards our employees and mitigates our risk.Demonstrate organisational and change management skills, problem solving and decision-making abilities.Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.What We Offer YouAt Patties Food Group we are passionate about our people, brands and culture!
