Job Title: Trade Assistant (Plumbing)
Department: Infrastructure - Facilities & Engineering, Royal Hobart Hospital
Location: South, Tasmania
The Department of Health is seeking a permanent full-time Trade Assistant (Plumbing) to join the Infrastructure - Facilities & Engineering team at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
About the Role:
* Under the limited supervision of the Tradesperson (Plumber) or the Senior Tradesperson (Plumber), carry out minor plumbing repairs;
* Daily checking of grease traps and arrange and coordinate regular pump-out;
* Minor welding repairs and fabrication;
* Planned maintenance;
* Cleaning roof gutters;
* Cleaning plant rooms;
* Erecting aluminium mobile scaffolding up to four metres high to interior and exterior as required;
* Purchasing items using petty cash sourced from the Administration Officer;
* Ordering of stock items from supply department.
Action Building Engineering Information Management System (BEIMS) requests as directed, including the electronic lodgement of requests as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation's Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes;
* Including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
About the Team:
The Infrastructure - Facilities & Engineering team provides essential services to support the operations of the Royal Hobart Hospital. As a Trade Assistant (Plumbing), you will work closely with the tradespeople and other staff to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital's facilities.
What You'll Need:
* A current Driver's Licence;
* Certified to erect scaffolding.
