The role delivers sound financial analysis, supporting commentary and advice to senior project leaders to inform financial planning, budgeting, forecasting for operational and/or grant funded projects.Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Provides strategic financial advice to project leaders (e.g., Project Managers, Grant Holders, Chief Investigators) to ensure optimal utilisation of grants and related funding.Utilises advanced project tools and processes for budgeting, forecasting, expenditure reporting, variance management, and compliance with grant rules, supporting client business units effectively.Reviews, processes, and corrects financial transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in operational accounting, delivered through the Professional Services team.Collaborates with the Senior Management Accountant to deliver tailored management accounting services, including budget development, forecasting, and robust budgetary control for assigned client groups.Builds and maintains strong working relationships with project and client leaders, serving as a trusted financial advisor.About YouDegree qualifications in accounting, business, commerce or a related field with experience in accounting and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and professional experience.Ability to apply problem solving and analytical skills to the provision of project-based accounting services, and the resolution of any issues within the parameters of policy frameworks.Experience working in professional financial advisory and/or service delivery functions in complex stakeholder and policy environments.Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and clients to achieve outcomes.Ability to work effectively within a team environment, whilst taking full accountability for the efficient delivery of set tasks within agreed timeframes and to agreed service standards.Progress towards or membership of a professional institution (CPA / CA or equivalent).In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply.
