We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate teaching assistant to support students with special educational needs in various activities outside the classroom. As part of our dedicated SEN team, you will work closely with the class teacher and other staff to deliver tailored lessons that are accessible, engaging, and fun for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in planning and delivering sport and physical education activities accessible to students with different needs.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during lessons and activities, ensuring they feel included and encouraged.
* Support students in developing their motor skills, coordination, and teamwork abilities in a safe environment.
* Assist in maintaining equipment, ensuring it is used safely.
* Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel motivated, valued, and supported.
* Monitor student progress in PE lessons and provide feedback to the class teacher.
* Collaborate with other teaching assistants and staff to create a holistic support plan for each student.
* Help students overcome challenges and encourage independence in physical activities.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children, preferably in an SEN or educational setting.
* A passion for sport and physical education, with the ability to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
* Knowledge of various SEN, including physical, emotional, and learning difficulties, and understanding of adapted teaching methods.
* Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting students.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* A relevant qualification in sport or a related field is desirable.
* A proactive and adaptable attitude, with ability to work under pressure.
