Applications are invited for the position of Constituent Manager (EOB) in the Forde Electorate in Beenleigh, QLD. This is a full-time ongoing position.
The Federal Member for Forde and Chief Opposition Whip, Bert van Manen MP is looking for a highly motivated professional with experience to join his electorate office team.
Primary Duties:
* Receiving and co-ordinating constituent enquiries including written correspondence, telephone enquiries and assisting with issues campaigns
* Understanding and ability to interpret Government Policy and Legislation
* Triaging constituent email correspondence
* Liaising with relevant Government Departments and Ministerial Offices on behalf of constituents regarding matters relating to Immigration, NDIS, Centrelink, Australian Taxation Office etc
* Researching and writing Ministerial representations
* Data entry and database management
* Maintain constituent information and contact details
* Representing the Member in constituent meetings
* Acting as the first point of contact with constituents and other visitors to the office
* Other duties as directed by the Office Manager
Applicants should have the following skills and experience:
* Effective oral and highly advanced written communication skills
* Proven research ability and the capacity to interpret complex material and recraft for a broader audience
* Well-developed office and IT skills including Microsoft Office
* Excellent organisation ability and time management skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* The maturity to deal with members of the public who are experiencing distress
* Excellent attention to detail
* Sound analytical/diagnostic skills with a proven ability to quickly identify the nature of a problem or issue
* Experience in a similar administrative role or previous work in a political office will be highly regarded
Employment conditions:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024-27.
* A commencing salary between $74,095 and $86,506 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills
* An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work
* An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable
An initial probationary period of three months will apply and may be subject to extension.
The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
