Our client, ANDREWS & RECH PTY LTD are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality metal components. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, precision, and teamwork while meeting production goals and maintaining the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: 1. Safety: · Uphold safe work practices and strictly adhere to all safety regulations during the operation and maintenance of CNC machine tools. · Actively identify and report potential safety hazards to ensure a safe working environment. 2. Machine Operation: · Set up, program, and operate CNC machines in accordance with job specifications and blueprints. · Optimize tooling changes, feed rates, and speeds for efficient machine operation. · Operate a diverse range of CNC machines, including Okuma and Mori Seiki vertical and horizontal machining centers and lathes. · Demonstrate proficiency in Okuma and Fanuc programming formats. · Monitor machine functions to identify faults or deviations from regular operation and take corrective action. 3. Quality Control: · Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accuracy. · Conduct regular quality checks using precision measuring instruments to verify parts meet required tolerances and specifications. · Inspect finished products for quality assurance and promptly report defects or issues. 4. Maintenance: · Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacement on CNC machines. · Proactively identify and address maintenance needs to prevent machine downtime. 5. Production: · Efficiently load and unload materials into various work holding devices to maintain continuous production flow. · Check cutting tools for damage and wear, replacing them when necessary. · Meet production quotas while maintaining the highest quality standards. 6. Teamwork: · Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address production challenges and implement process improvements. · Assist other machine operators with machine setup, material handling, and production line maintenance. 7. Finishing and Fabrication: · Polishes, deburs, and finishes machined parts to ensure they meet specified quality standards. · Checks fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments. Requirements: · Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably with exposure to Okuma and Mori Seiki machines. · Familiarity with Okuma and Fanuc programming formats. · Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a production environment.
