The Service is responsible for driving the ongoing evolution of ICT capability across SAPOL, through the delivery of high-quality ICT change programs. The Service is structured across four core pillars: Strategy, Innovation and Engagement; Program Delivery; Operational Services; and Security and Assurance.Program Delivery is accountable for the successful delivery of business outcomes from a large portfolio of projects. It contains both project delivery accountability as well as portfolio governance responsibilities to manage quality, risk, and budget to optimise outcomes from the portfolio as a whole. SAPOL is undertaking a large complex portfolio of work across a range of areas including core infrastructure, business systems, and digital transformation initiatives. This full portfolio has been broken into three sub-portfolios to deliver on the business outcomes.The position sits within the Mobility Portfolio, which is part of the Program Delivery pillar. The Mobility Portfolio is responsible for the delivery of 2 Programs; the Mobile Workforce Program (MWP), which is focused on delivering personally issued mobile devices to improve frontline capability, and the Digital Workforce Program (DWP), which will rollout M365 across SAPOL. Together, these programs represent a multi-year technology transformation program designed by police, for police that will deliver wide-reaching technology upgrades across SAPOL to improve the safety and operational efficiency of SAPOL sworn and unsworn staff.The Senior Portfolio Finance Officer is a key member of the Mobility Transformation Portfolio and will be responsible for supporting, monitoring, and analysis of portfolio budgets and provision of a range of responsive, timely, comprehensive, and integrated financial management information, reporting, and performance measurement services to support management decision-making. As the Senior Portfolio Finance Officer, you will be required to provide expert financial consultancy and advisory services to IS&T managers and budget holders, particularly on aspects of project expenditure. This includes providing advice to senior leadership regarding financial statuses across the portfolio using clear business terminology.It is critical that you have excellent communication skills to answer questions in plain/simple language when complex financial elements are being discussed. It will be beneficial if you have experience working across SA Government and have an understanding of the financial structures within Government.What you’ll need to succeedA degree in Accounting, Commerce or other appropriate discipline.Demonstrated experience in the preparation, analysis and review of budgets, financial reports and information.Proven ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, verbally, in writing and by means of presentations.Demonstrated experience in providing a consultancy service to staff and management on budgetary and financial matters.Demonstrated ability to organise workloads effectively in a climate of competing priorities to achieve agreed outcomes and to also work under broad direction and/or in a team environment on complex tasks.Possess drive, display initiative, and implement continuous improvement and quality customer service strategies.Special ConditionsThe incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check.The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent.Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required.The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program.SalaryASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.EnquiriesSasha Koirala(08) 7221 4166Sasha.Koirala@hays.com.auApplication InstructionsAll applications must be submitted online.
