As a Harvest Operator you will be required to operate a variety of machinery to harvest our product with a focus on both you and your team’s safety as well as the safety of the prawns. Outside of harvest periods, you will be required to assist in the remediation of the ponds and other civil works around the farm. You could be operating a wide variety of site machinery, including backhoe, excavator, skid steer, trucks, Moxy and grader.
Proserpine: Located on our prawn farm halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, you’ll work in a stunning area. From May – December you will be working a 10.5 hour shift on our 4/3 roster (Monday – Thursday or Tuesday – Friday) and from December to May you will be working 8.5 hour shifts, Monday – Friday. This is a full-time, permanent position.
What does your week look like?
Harvesting Prawns: Operating a backhoe to harvest prawns at our farms in Proserpine and Mission Beach
Can Do – Safely: Ensuring all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures.
General Tasks: Deliver any civil works needs required when harvest timing allows- including: waste pile removal, roadworks, firebreaks, groundskeeping, seaweed harvesting, truck driving, or any other relevant works
What can you bring?
1. A backhoe or excavator licence is essential in this role.
2. You will have some basic technology skills as jobs will all come through via an iPad.
3. Any aquaculture/ agriculture experience is highly desirable but not essential.
4. Heavy Rigid Licence (desirable)
