The school provides education from ELC to Year 12.
Both boys and girls are catered for in the Early Learning Centre.
The opportunity We are seeking a passionate and experienced teacher to join our dedicated Music team, teaching Guitar in our instrumental program as well as ensemble direction.
This position, commencing in Term 1 2025, is a casual position and is currently approximately 5 hours per week.
Directly reporting to the Head of Performing Arts and working closely with the Director of Junior School Music, the role involves teaching individual students as well as running the Guitar Ensemble.
Responsibilities of the role will include: Preparing for and teaching individual and group lessons within the school, confidently managing small groups of students and working as a member of the instrumental music team, as well as being able to motivate and inspire students in individual lessons.
Familiarity and experience in preparing students for examination systems such as AMEB and Trinity.
Conducting, arranging and tutoring ensembles, undertaking essential administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the ensembles.
Participating in rehearsals, concerts, workshops and Music camps as required.
Monitoring, recording and reporting on the continuous progress of each student and maintaining accurate records of student attendance.
Utilising appropriate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Collaborating with members of a diverse and dynamic Music Department.
A relevant tertiary qualification in Music and VIT or WWCC (Employee) are essential.
