**What’s the role?**
Travel Insider is the digital arm of Qantas magazine and an exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Senior Social and Digital Producer to join the team.
We are looking for a creative and culturally connected producer to set the social media strategy for _Qantas_ magazine and Travel Insider. You’ll ensure all of our content is insight-led, performance-focused and fit for purpose. In addition, you’ll be working with the Digital Managing Editor to assist in implementing the overall digital content strategy including creating and optimising content to a high standard.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring that all content is strategic, engaging and, of course, inspires travel. A strong track record of ideation, writing and editing across editorial and native content is essential, together with the processes and pressures of operating in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate must be prepared to work across socials and the site at all levels.
This is a role that encompasses editorial and commercial and requires experience in trend identification, video direction, briefing and commissioning creators, and an encyclopaedic knowledge of audios, trends and channel best practice. It is a key requirement that candidates have deep digital experience and strong analytical skills.
**Responsibilities**
+ Building out the monthly social content plan with audience-first, brand-safe and channel-appropriate ideas
+ Brainstorming with the broader team for ways we can increase cross-platform synergy and engagement, rationalising your ideas and offering insights as to why they’ll perform, engage the audience and are suited to the brand
+ Tracking the latest ‘viral’ trends. Finding the best trending audio to aid discoverability and at times shooting low-fi social video
+ Coming up with creative captions that feel original and on-brand, using relevant hashtags to drive discovery
+ Scheduling and publishing content, writing and optimising content for Travel Insider, adapting print content for digital and uploading to the site
+ Attending daily stand ups and weekly team meetings
+ Pulling analytics and performance insights into weekly or monthly reports
+ Collaborating with the print, digital, commercial content editors and clients to ensure alignment across all channels
+ Working with the broader team to ensure that native and social KPIs are delivered, and that our CPCs/CPVs/CPLPVs are low
+ Developing, guiding, and advising on media plans for responses to advertising briefs
+ Working with AdOps and commercial editors on optimisation strategies for paid for content
+ Optimise content for SEO best practice (alt tags, captions, content structure etc) and user experience on all channels, including web, social media, mobile and video
**Who are you?**
+ You will have 3-5 years’ on-the-job experience as a social media manager or similar (experience working with a large brand is preferable, but not mandatory)
+ You’re a good communicator who thrives in a fluid, fast-paced and future-focused environment
+ It goes without saying, you live and breathe social and are full of creative ideas of how we can move the platforms forward.
+ You’ll be collaborative by nature, but also a self-starter who wants to learn and isn’t afraid to throw themselves into things
+ You’ll have an innate understanding of the sweet spot between content the audience wants to consume, and what the client’s business objectives are
+ Past employers will say you have a ‘can do’ attitude and are a natural problem-solver
+ You can think both creatively and analytically, and have a clear understanding of digital and social media KPIs and measuring success
+ You have experience managing and curating an always-on content calendar for social channels, primarily Instagram
+ You have excellent writing, editing and subbing skills
+ You can stick to deadlines and work within a budget and client parameters
+ You have an ability to think big, without forgetting the tiny details
+ You can not only report on performance data, but translate the results into digestible insights that help inform your approach
+ You have proven commercial skills in helping to drive revenue growth
