About the Role:
Bonjour! An exciting opportunity awaits a dedicated Primary/Secondary French LOTE teacher to join at a cutting-edge Independent School in Melton, situated in Melbourne's West. This is a permanent position focused on instructing students in upper Primary years to Secondary, within state-of-the-art facilities.
The school, recognized as one of the largest and globally renowned independent institutions, boasts a student body of over 9000 across 125 campuses worldwide. The Melton Campus, the largest in Victoria, is housed in a modern facility, serving not only local students but also those from nearby Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Sunbury, and Werribee. The campus features dedicated learning spaces for both Primary and Secondary education, currently accommodating 225 students onsite.
Key duties:
1. Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for French LOTE Secondary levels.
2. Deliver effective and interactive French LOTE language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
3. Introduce aspects of French culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
4. Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
5. Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate French language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
6. Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
7. Unrestricted working rights in Australia
8. Valid VIT registration
9. Demonstrate previous experience in teaching Primary/Secondary students in French LOTE in Australia
10. Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
