Injury and Claims Advisor - 12 initial month contract

This full time role is based at Ron Finemore Transport's Head Office in Wodonga, regional NSW.
About the role:
Reporting to the Manager - Injury and Claims, the Full Time Advisor - Injury and Claims is primarily responsible for managing the rehabilitation and supporting the recovery and return to work of employees. The key focus of the role will be to:
* Develop Return to Work plans and rehabilitation programmes for employees that keep them engaged and enable them to return to work safely and as soon as possible.
* Build strong working relationships and trust, as well as mentor and support key individuals both internal and external to the organisation.
Responsibilities include:
* End to end injury management.
* Manage communication actions required with external providers.
* Draft and issue determinations.
* Apply relevant legislation to deliver best practice rehabilitation processes.
* Provide strategic advice on rehabilitation and return to work strategies to leaders within the business.
* Manage, develop, maintain and review Rehabilitation Management Systems.
* Manage all injury and claims records and databases.
* Responsible for ongoing reporting on injuries and claims within the business.
* Provide technical support and advice to managers across the business.
About You:

Your ability to develop and foster relationships with people both internally and externally is one of your strengths. You have experience dealing with General Practitioners and have an understanding of medical terminology and process.
Background:
You may have previous experience in an Allied Health or Nursing role. A background in Injury Management in a medium or large transport organisation would be highly desirable.
Skills and Experience:
* Prior experience in Injury Management.
* Understanding and knowledge of key rehabilitation concepts and ability to put these into practice.
* Ability to identify and analyse complex health concerns.
* Ability to interpret and analyse legislation and policy.
* Excellent literacy and communication skills.
* Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Transport industry.
* 3+ years’ experience within a workers’ compensation self-insured environment (Comcare).
* Qualifications in personal injury related fields.
* Detailed knowledge of the SRC Act and associated legislation.
