Using market and competitor analysis to deliver market-leading products and ultimately grow market share. A combination of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams is required.The Commercial Product Manager is responsible for management of the product through leadership, collaboration and transparency, ensuring it meets customer needs and achieves business objectives.Job DescriptionCommercial Product ManagementTake responsibility for the design, development and roll-out of products that deliver against the commercial strategy for the brand and portfolio.Have foresight and insight to plan and develop the product roadmap looking out 12-24 months.Lead the development and implementation of the product growth and development plan in consultation with sales and marketing.Constantly strive for product innovation, identifying and filling product gaps and generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.Develop a clear understanding of market, customers and competitor landscape in the market(s) that the product operates in.Closely assess competitor (direct and indirect) offerings, seeking opportunities for product differentiation.Prioritise product features and new initiatives (including show features and education) by ranking them against strategic goals and balancing the value that new features will deliver to our customers and to our business.Work closely with marketing, sales, and operations, to deliver market-led innovation and content / education.Clearly define the requirements for the overall product and the desired customer experience. Work closely with operations and marketing to ensure implementation is aligned to goals and objectives.Create and oversee product delivery roadmap that manages dependencies and cross-functional requirements against key milestones.Coordinate all activities required to bring the product to market, aligning the cross-functional teams involved – marketing, sales, operations, customer service.Develop new product ideas and develop appropriate go to market plans as required.Ensure product and customer feedback is seamlessly integrated into product planning and development.Build relationships with key customers, partners and associations within relevant markets.Take full ownership and accountability for the P&L for the product(s).In collaboration with the Head of Product, Marketing, Delivery and Sales teams, prepare annual product budgets.Manage the annual product budget, including all direct costs and revenues associated.Report on progress in monthly budget meetings, or when required.Ensure budgeted revenue, cost and margin (GP1) goals are met by working closely with sales, marketing and delivery.Work with the Head of Product in collaboration with sales, delivery and marketing teams to determine product pricing based on market research, associated costs and industry demand.Closely manage direct costs in collaboration with marketing, operations and other cross-functional teams.Customer ExperienceHold a deep understanding of customer experience, working with the marketing, operations and customer service teams to deliver a world-class experience across every facet of the product – before, during and after event.Champion opportunities to improve customer experience and test new strategies for driving customer value.Work closely with the customer experience and sales team to develop a customer experience process that increases customer satisfaction, retention and advocacy.Monitor and report on product health metrics, including NPS, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Retention, Customer Churn Rates, Exhibitor ROI.Work with the operations and marketing team to ensure professional service delivery for exhibitors and visitors (vendors and buyers) before, during and after the event.Identify and resolve customer issues as required.Onsite and Occupational Health and SafetyAdhere to and participate in all OH&S training. Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Ability to plan and develop short- and medium-term product strategies and roadmaps.Minimum 5 years product management experience, preferably within an events or digital environment.Demonstrated ability to create, monitor and evaluate a budget and business plan.Time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to travel interstate and overseas when required and work irregular hours when required.
