Position: Principal Asset Engineer
Department: Infrastructure Gold Coast
The Principal Asset Engineer is responsible for managing the Electrical and Lighting Assets for the Infrastructure Gold Coast Department. This role represents the Asset Custodian and is responsible for strategic, tactical, and operational matters.
The role will establish a framework, manage, and improve current processes for data collection, transmission, storage, and reporting to support activities such as:
1. Leading the Gold Coast Infrastructure Directorate in Electrical and Lighting Asset management
2. Representing Gold Coast Infrastructure interests at the Whole of City level
3. Leading strategic & tactical planning, and safety initiatives & improvements across Directorate
4. Responsible for delivery of the Capital Works and OPEX programs for Electrical and Lighting
5. Manage day-to-day operational issues including Councillor requests and Community queries
6. Overseeing Project Management of Asset Capital Program, procurement, and acting as a Council Contract Representative
7. Providing technical assistance in Development applications for Electrical and Lighting Assets
About You:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and asset management, with a proven track record of strategic leadership, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration.
We're looking for people who have:
* A Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
* 5 years minimum relevant industry experience
* Hold a Drivers Licence Class C Unrestricted
Highly Desirable:
* Certificate III Electrotechnology
* Diploma in Project Management or demonstrated relevant experience
* Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or have the ability to obtain
