We are seeking an Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper / Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day financial administration and general office operations of the business. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and enjoys managing a broad range of responsibilities.
Finance Responsibilities:
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and subcontractor payments and client invoicing
* Reconcile accounts and transactions in Xero
* Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
* Prepare and lodge PAYG and BAS statements
* Process weekly payroll, including superannuation and leave tracking for a small team
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal staff regarding accounts and finance matters
* Assist Accounts manager with month-end and year-end financial processes
* Monitor and follow up on outstanding debtor accounts
* Support cash flow tracking and assist in financial forecasting
Office Management Responsibilities:
* Manage general office supplies, consumables, and stationery
* Coordinate team milestones such as birthdays, work anniversaries, and internal celebrations
* Organise internal meetings and maintain the office filing/database systems
* Develop and implement administrative processes to support smooth day-to-day operations
* Answer and manage incoming calls, messages, and front-desk/reception duties
* Act as the point of contact for mail, deliveries, utilities, maintenance, and miscellaneous office errands
