Overview
Exciting opportunity to join the friendly team for the Mt Barker Hospital emergency department expansion, you will be responsible for undertaking general facility maintenance associated with the interior and exterior of the health unit. Your duties may include rubbish collection, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical and grounds maintenance. This may include gardening and the installation and maintenance of a wide range of watering systems, along with vehicle washing and other handyman activities. Working within a team environment, you will gain exposure to a diverse range of jobs to be undertaken and have the opportunity to increase your skills and experience. You will have prior experience in general maintenance and handyman tasks, including gardening. With the ability to work with minimal supervision utilising your initiative and judgement to ensure the timely completion of tasks and activities, you will be capable of adhering to instructions, established practices and guidelines. You will have a sound understanding of the Occupational Health Safety & Welfare acts relevant to maintenance, and knowledge of operating and maintaining basic equipment and tools. Your willingness to work as a cooperative team member will hold you in good stead for this job
