Find a career that matters and lasts As the Indigenous Relations Team Leader, you will lead a specialised team responsible for implementing our Indigenous Relations Framework and Reconciliation Action Plan. You will also: Drive the development of state-wide strategies that align with our commitment to meaningful Indigenous engagement. Build and maintain strong partnerships with First Nations stakeholders, ensuring their interests are central to our project delivery. Coach and mentor team members while providing strategic guidance to internal stakeholders on best practices for engagement. Proactively identify opportunities for training, employment, and subcontracting for First Nations communities. Play a key role in managing cultural heritage risks, ensuring we deliver projects that uphold our social license to operate. The community you will join Based in Northern QLD, you'll be part of a dedicated team focused on fostering sustainable relationships and partnerships with Traditional Owners and First Nations stakeholders. Our team values collaboration and innovation in everything we do. Your expertise Degree-level qualification in archaeology, anthropology, social sciences, or environmental science. Strong understanding of Federal and State legislation, particularly the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Act (Qld) 2003 and Native Title Act. Ability to successfully consult and negotiate with Aboriginal Parties and landholders on development proposals, and drafting and implementing agreements. Established strong relationships with Aboriginal Parties and relevant government departments in Queensland. Demonstrated ability to provide expert advice to stakeholders on a diverse range of cultural heritage, Native Title, and landholder issues. Proven ability to lead and implement strategies and frameworks for managing relationships with First Nations peoples, ensuring compliance with government policies and regulations.
