Health & Safety / Environmental CoordinatorMaas Group is excited to share we are building a bigger team to meet requirements for our expanding Civil projects.We are looking for team players who are keen to contribute to the continued growth of the business.If you are an experiencedHealth, Safety & Environmental Coordinatorthat enjoys regional projects are keen to succeed and align with the values of our group, we would love to hear from you.A little about us:Established in 2002 with one Bobcat and a tipper truck by Wes Maas, Maas has been built on reputation and today encompasses expanding construction materials, civil construction and hire, manufacturing and real estate divisions.With a fleet of over 450 machines and a diverse and experienced team of 1,700 plus employees, Maas ensures the highest standards of delivery are met on time, every time.MGH's continued growth is underpinned by a substantial, committed delivery pipeline of projects and further investment strategies in infrastructure by the public sector.Overview of the role:Reporting to the HSEQ Manager CCH, the Health and Safety / Environmental Coordinator CCH Projects collaborates and partners with the Project Managers to develop and implement Health and Safety / Environmental systems and strategies that enables a positive safety culture to keep our people and the environment safe, healthy and well.This is a hands-on role, in a fast-moving work environment and you will be promoting and supporting a strong health, safety and environment culture across our workforce.Regular travel to regional areas for projects, including Project roster hours as required.Duties include but not limited to:The Health and Safety / Environmental Coordinator – CCH Projects will lead the implementation of Health and Safety / Environmental strategies to ensure projects are delivered in line with legislative and client requirements.Coordinate the Health and Safety / Environmental framework, including the administration of KPIs, targets and processes for Health and Safety and environmental performance to be monitored on site and to the client's approval and requirements.Collaborate with staff to improve hazard inspections and internal audit processes on Health and Safety / Environmental hazards and risks.Conduct Risk Assessments, develop and review SWMS, EWMS, undertake hazard reporting and proactive safety measures.Coordinate the chemical safety within the workplace and actively manage to reduce the associated risks.Assist with the Management of the internal audit process for major projects and the preparation and submission to the client as required under the contract.To be successful in this role you will need:Relevant qualifications (at a minimum CERT IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety and / or Environment).Strong understanding of Work Health Safety and Environmental Legislation.Strong knowledge of acts, regulations codes of practice and standards.Operating knowledge of Heavy Plant & Equipment would be beneficial.Experience in Health and Safety / Environment – preferably on project work.Previous exposure in internal and external auditing.Intermediate to advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office programs and systems e.g.SharePoint.Superior written and verbal communication with the ability to converse with a wide variety of people.The ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Why work for us:Fully maintained Vehicle or allowance to be provided for the role.Competitive salary and LAHA may be available while working away from home on projects.We have an exciting Employee Benefits platform offering exclusive discounts on retail and healthcare as well as discounted gym memberships and novated leasing options.Access to Commonwealth Bank Workplace banking benefits.We engage and reward our employees with a monthly values awards program and recognition in our newsletter.Location is negotiable.#J-18808-Ljbffr
