This Medical Centre is Located 1.5 hours from Brisbane and is a mixed billing practice. It was established in 1985 and still runs on the same family practice values. They have a diverse team of experienced supervisors with a range of different speciality areas, based at the Medical Centre. Although their doctors come from different backgrounds and have different speciality areas, they are all committed to providing accurate medical advice and exceptional service.

Purpose of position:
To provide competent patient-centered medical care that addresses patient health needs and promotes wellness. Ensuring practice is based on latest evidence and guidelines and meets legislative requirements.
General Responsibilities:
To provide excellence in clinical care:
o Providing skilled health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients
o Ordering diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results as per clinics procedure.
o Referring patients appropriately to other providers if their needs exceed the range of care you are able to provide.
o Documenting all care provided and education/information given to patients within their health record, as per clinics procedure.
To maintain good medical practice:
o Maintaining professional knowledge and standards through continuing medical education and personal professional development.
o Having a working knowledge of legislation and standards of General Practice.
o Maintaining a current resuscitation certificate.
Maintaining trust (professional relationships with patients)
o Providing services courteously and respectfully, with regard to the cultural beliefs and needs of patients
o Responding openly and following up complaints or feedback. 4. Maintaining integrity in professional practice
o Advise reception about bilkling for consultations
o Declare vested interests in services that you may be referring to
o Returning phone calls in timely manner
o Participating in centre-based audits
o Demonstrating a working knowledge of company policy with regard to clinical practice as described in company manuals.
o Reporting “events” or untoward incidents as per professional standards and the legislative requirments
o Ensuring immunisation status is kept up to date. Expected behaviours and personal attributes
o Demonstrate a knowledge of and compliance with all relevant legislation and common law obligations.
o Discharge of duty of care in the course of practice including meeting practice standards, and accountability.
o Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedural guidelines that have legal implications, for example, ensure documentation conforms to legal requirements.
o Identify and respond to unsafe practice, for example, implement interventions to prevent unsafe practice and/or contravention of law.
o Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision with genuine empathy and interest in their needs.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all ages and social groups.
o Undertake all duties in a diligent manner, with honesty and integrity.
o Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding patient and practice information.
o Have a vigilant attitude to accuracy, being prepared to double check as necessary.
o Ability to work cooperatively and independently, & ability to prioritise and organise, with attention to detail.
o Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
o Possession of current driver’s license Education, Qualifications and Experience
o CPR/Triage training must be kept current.
o Registration as a medical practitioner with Medical Board
o Vocational registration with RACGP
o Current Medical Indemnity
Other requirements:
o Permanent contract with a qualifying period of 3 months and 3 month notice period.
o Requirement for use of own vehicle.
o Potential for contact with hazardous material such as blood & body fluids.
o Given option of immunisations at no cost.
