The role specifically has a further external focus, providing high level technical service to customers and building relationships with key industry bodies. Excellent communication, report writing, experimental design and analytical skills are paramount for this role, as well as good project management skills.
Key responsibilities include:
Leads assigned product development projects - from concept, through functional assessment, prototyping, validation, final design and documented release for commercialisation. Follows project management processes and maintains associated documentation.Develops detailed experimental test plans, co-ordinates and executes the associated test work, evaluates data and summarises conclusions in well structured reports.Liaises with and builds high level technical relationships with customers and key industry bodies – focussing on universities, industry groups, conference forums and other research institutes.Develops and authors technical papers for publication and presentation at selected conference events.Provides both internal and external assistance for product technical enquiries, information and application needs.About You You have recognised tertiary qualifications in mining geotechnical engineering, or other related disciplines, ideally at degree or associate diploma level. You have the ability to research, interpret, and apply information from relevant industry sources and can analyse technical data with accuracy. You are also skilled in following standard systems of work, ensuring documentation is completed correctly, and have the capability to develop and document new systems as needed.
With strong written and verbal communication skills, you collaborate effectively with internal teams, cross-functional departments and external organisations. Your ability to work cooperatively ensures smooth coordination and successful project outcomes. A background in the mining industry would be highly desirable.
