Human Centred Design Team Member (APS 5)Locations: Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Melbourne and SydneyTwo permanent positions; full-time or part-time hours; flexible working arrangementsThe Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is seeking to recruit two permanent APS 5 team members for our Human Centred Design Team.About the roleAs an APS 5 Human Centred Design Team Member, your responsibilities may include:Supporting the set-up and operation of a Human Centred Design Centre of Excellence.Supporting, preparing for, and assisting in facilitating design thinking activities including clarifying intent, qualitative research, analysis, synthesis, ideation, concept creation, testing, and prioritisation.Assisting to develop design resources, guides, procedures, and templates for the organisation.Assisting to develop design artefacts including journey maps, concepts, and prototypes.Communicating and advocating the design process, risks, and value in sufficient detail to build business confidence, and supporting staff to build knowledge and capability in research and design activities.Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, negotiating requirements to meet business needs and strategic objectives.What we are looking for (selection criteria)To be suitable, you should have most, or all, of the following skills, qualities, and experience:Demonstrated ability to assist teams to plan, conduct, and apply human-centred design approaches and deliver appropriate outputs.Demonstrated application of analytical, problem-solving, and research skills to make decisions and recommend solutions.Ability to advocate and communicate the voice of the customer to influence an improved customer and staff experience.Experience in preparing group training sessions and workshops and developing training plans and materials is desirable.Demonstrated application of interpersonal and communication skills to sensitively engage with customers and internal and external stakeholders in various communication formats.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and plan and prioritise workload for self with support from supervisor and team leader to accomplish business outcomes.Qualifications relevant to human-centred design methodologies and practices, psychology, behavioural economics, or similar.Aware of, or experience using Google Analytics.How to applyPlease read the attached Applicant Information Kit for more information about the role, the team, and the recruitment process.To apply, you will need to upload your current resume, provide referee details, and respond to the following:In no more than 500 words, provide a summary of how you have demonstrated the skills, qualities, and experience outlined above.Applications close at 11:30 p.m. AEDT, Wednesday 2 April 2025.Start your application by clicking the "Begin" button.#J-18808-Ljbffr
