Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Care Assistant to join our team at the Waikerie Residential Care Home where, working under limited supervision, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
Supporting residents with toileting and continence management
Helping with feeding and maintaining mobility/dexterity through transferring and lifting, including the use of mechanical aids
Undertaking bed making, cleaning equipment and utensils, and distributing clean laundry and personal attire
Providing input into resident assessments, recording observations, and identifying diversional therapy needs
Completing routine documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures

Essential Criteria
AQF Certificate III in Aged Care or a related field
Experience working with aged, frail, or disabled persons
Ability to perform tasks under limited direction and work effectively within a team
Strong communication skills with people from diverse backgrounds
Commitment to resident confidentiality and displaying empathy towards the elderly
Willingness to develop positive relationships with residents and their families

Applicant Information
This vacancy is for multiple casual positions, working hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked on a casual shift by shift basis.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.
