About the role
The Maintenance Officer is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair activities for facilities, including air conditioning, electrical and mechanical systems, emergency equipment, SCADA systems, and other building-related equipment. This role involves coordinating and monitoring preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance to ensure timely completion, compliance with standards, and adherence to safety protocols. The Maintenance Officer is also tasked with ensuring contractors follow safe work practices, conducting safety audits, and managing the permit process for site access.
Core duties include scheduling and tracking maintenance activities, conducting inspections, and attending to equipment faults, alarms, and infrastructure issues. The Maintenance Officer is required to attend emergency call-outs and ensure facilities adhere to public safety standards. Additional responsibilities involve supporting contractors by providing occupational safety training, monitoring their performance, managing spare parts, and supporting project administration. Regular reporting on contractor performance and equipment status is also essential to this role.
About you!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
* Holds a Trades Certificate or relevant experience in multi-disciplinary maintenance or project work; experienced in supervising staff/contractors for building and project activities; strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health regulations for safe work practices.
* Effective interpersonal and communication abilities to liaise and collaborate with various stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to take initiative and address issues effectively.
* Proficient in relevant computer applications (including Microsoft Office), with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.

There are 2 opportunities available for immediate start, one permanent full-time and one 12 months fixed term opportunity. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies both fixed term and permanent that may arise within the next 12 months.
